Shrines of the Month
Each month our community picks an outstanding Animanga and Non-Animanga shrine or fansite to promote for that month. These shrines are exceptional and stand out for a number of factors including but not limited to creativity, uniqueness, content, aesthetic appearance, and devotion. We're happy to list them here. As for previous winners, they are listed under here.
Member of the Month (2010/01)
This section is not so much an award as it is a thank you to those members who consistently go beyond. They take an active part in keeping the community alive by starting and participating in discussions, giving feedback on members' shrines, making new posts, suggesting improvements or features that can make the community better, volunteering (for things like this directory, or even running layout marathons), nominating shrines of the month every month, and so much more. We seriously could not run this community alone, and so many of you help so much. We just want to say thanks. The community would not be the same without you. (We actually choose a new member to highlight every two months, so the name is a little misleading.)
Karen of Inbrightestday.net (karenjeane on Livejournal)Varen: I am pretty sure most of you are familiar with Karen. Fact is, Karen has been supporting us for a long while, and I am glad she is finally getting credit for her hard work. She has always been participating in Amassment events, and recently, ran a whole site marathon by herself. In addition, she is also a very passionate about making fansites and puts a lot of effort into them. It is wonderful to see such an active and helpful member of the community. Thank you very much Karen!
Todd: I've known Karen for some time; she designed sites way back when, and I've always been a fan. When she told me she was thinking about getting back into the world of fansites, I got really excited. Not only does she make great sites, but she's a big fan of shrines and fansites herself, and is a positive presence in the fansite community, always there to give feedback and support on other people's projects. She brings all of that positivity to Amassment. Since her first day as a member, she has been incredibly active, participating not only in discussions and memes at the community, but in SOTM, at the message boards, and most recently in Amassment chats, and Josephine's scavenger hunt, too. Like Varen mentioned, she suggested and took on a whole Amassment marathon as well. Her dedication to the fansite community and its members is something to be admired. We really appreciate her involvement at Amassment.
Daphne: Karen is a relatively new member of Amassment, but she's already done a lot in such a short amount of time. I love that her sites are always very diverse and I'm always intrigued to know what she will come up with next. It takes a lot of organisation and enthusiasm to run a shrine marathon at Amassment all on her own, and she's done a great job of it. We really appreciate all the energy she puts into the community, message boards and everything else. Thanks Karen!
Chrissy: Karen is one of Amassment's most dedicated members. Always willing to help, we're very grateful for everything she's done in the community, from her marathon to SOTM. Though I can't list everything she's done for us, Amassment runs with its members and we're so happy to have enthusiastic members really interested in shrining. Karen is a delight to have in the community, and we couldn't be happier to have her around. Thanks so much! :)
Masao: Ever since joining, Karen's been very supportive of Amassment right from day one. She's participated in events, discussions, and various other sections and often provides feedback. Currently, she's running a shrine marathon that's added more diversity to our usual bit of activity. I think she is one of the reasons Amassment works and how we function as a community. With all of our various interests and work styles, we still come together in similar ways in how we support each other and promote each other into venturing out of our comfort zones. Thank you for being such a dedicated member, Karen!
